Our engineering team has spent years taking modules apart, physically and logically, to learn exactly how they lock and how to safely renew them. The outcome: modules that present as OEM‑new, not VIN‑programmed, ready for factory programming using OEM and J2534 tools.
We built Oncore around a simple idea: if you can understand how a module locks, you can responsibly unlock it for reuse, without weakening security or cutting corners. During the process, we also test it to make sure the part is fully working. Our reverse‑engineering practice combines bus‑level analysis (CAN/FlexRay/Ethernet) with in‑circuit methods (e.g., JTAG) when needed, always aiming to perform renewals over standard interfaces first for safety and repeatability.
What that looks like in practice:
Interrogate & map. We study the module’s boot process, security seeds, and code.
Emulate & validate. We build bench conditions that simulate the target vehicle and exercise expected states; when mechanical loads matter (e.g., EPS racks), we use purpose‑built test rigs.
Author the reset. We craft a renewal routine that clears the relevant identity/learned data, returning the unit to a true “virgin” state so it behaves like a new OEM part.
Operate securely. Only credentialed Oncore engineers run renewals on a locked bench fixture with a local PC, J2534 interface, 360° cameras, and tamper detection, with cloud‑held secrets so sensitive material never resides on the box. Every session is video‑logged, with VIN/serial capture and pre/post DTCs recorded.
Ship with proof. We include downloadable test reports and support a warranty on renewed parts.
What you receive:
A module that is not pre‑programmed to your VIN.
A unit that appears as OEM‑new and accepts the standard factory programming steps for that vehicle line.
Full compatibility with OEM J2534 software and your existing service tools.
Ethics & compliance: We operate within right‑to‑repair principles and leverage applicable DMCA maintenance exemptions; we also design our system to deter misuse, including audit logging, identity checks, and anti‑tamper measures.
